Home EV charger installation

Most home installs are a Level 2 charger on a dedicated 240-volt circuit, either a hardwired wall unit like the Tesla Wall Connector or a NEMA 14-50 outlet for a plug-in charger. Before installing, we check your panel capacity and existing loads, then choose the location and circuit size that gets you the fastest safe charging speed.

We work throughout Tampa, including South Tampa, Hyde Park, Davis Islands, Westchase, Odessa, and Lutz.

Multifamily EV charging: Level 2 and DC fast chargers

X Electric installs Level 2 (L2) and DC fast chargers (DCFC) for condo and apartment buildings across Tampa, from a single charger for one resident to multi-charger systems for a whole garage or parking lot.

Every project starts with the building's available electrical capacity and the distance from the electrical room to the parking spaces. When capacity is short, we plan load management or a service upgrade. For owners, boards, and property managers, EV charging is both an infrastructure upgrade and an amenity residents look for.

  • Single Level 2 chargers for individual residents
  • Multi-charger Level 2 systems for shared garages
  • DC fast chargers for buildings and commercial sites
  • Capacity review, load management, and service upgrades

EV Charger Installation FAQs

Should I get a hardwired or plug-in charger?

Hardwired chargers can usually charge faster and are better for outdoor installs. A NEMA 14-50 outlet gives you flexibility to swap chargers later. We'll recommend what fits your car and your panel.

Will I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?

Many homes don't. We check your panel size and existing loads first, and if capacity is tight we'll explain your options, including load-managed chargers that avoid a full upgrade.

Do you install chargers for condos, apartments, and businesses?

Yes. We install chargers for multifamily properties, offices, and commercial sites, including multiple-charger setups that need careful load planning.
